Boston College WR Alex Amidon headed for Navy SEALs

According to multiple sources tied to the Boston College football program, and confirmed during last night’s Gridiron Club meeting, Eagles wide receiver Alex Amidon is set to put aside his career in football to pursue becoming a United States Navy SEAL.

There had been several reports to suggest Amidon had made up his decision and was pulling out of the draft, but school officials said it was premature to come to that conclusion. The Greenfield, Massachusetts native finished his career at Boston College with 191 receptions, 2,792 yards, and 15 touchdowns. Here is the link to his scouting report that was written in October.

While there is no guarantee he will be drafted, he does have a skill set that could enable him to last and succeed in the NFL. Should Amidon ultimately decide to go the military route and work to become a SEAL, he would join a long line of football players that have spent time in the military. Whichever path he ultimately chooses, best of luck to him chasing down his dream.
