Valeria Lukyanova claims to be a spiritual guru

Valeria Lukyanova, who turned herself into a real-life Barbie doll, went viral last year and has, in a relatively short space of time, amassed hundreds of thousands of followers online as well as recognition for her continual commitment to achieving physical perfection in this Sebastian Faena-lensed editorial in V magazine.

But in this new vice.com documentary we learn something new about Valeria, something potentially life-changing for all of us. Valeria is not a real girl at all. She is in fact a time-travelling spiritual guru whose purpose is to save the world from the clutches of superficiality and negative energy!

Whatever your opinion might be on this internet deity, I would urge you to put aside any preconceived notions, pour yourself a cup of something chai, and sit down to watch this 20-minute space odyssey.

My favourite bit in the film is when Barbie and some of her less-committed friends sit around in a circle and sing an ancient Lemurian mantra to communicate with DNA cells! Totes awkward. We can see you making faces, girls!
