A 13-year-old girl is in hospital after she was struck by two vehicles in different directions while jaywalking in North Vancouver.

The teen was crossing outside of marked crosswalks on West 3rd Avenue between Lonsdale and Chesterfield avenues when she was first hit by a westbound vehicle, according to police.

Seconds later, a car heading eastbound on West 3rd ran into her.

The girl suffered serious head injuries and had to be rushed to Lions Gate Hospital for treatment.

Both drivers stayed at the scene and cooperated with investigators, according to police.
