RCMP seek man found sleeping in wrong home

It was a nasty surprise one Surrey woman won’t soon forget.

Police say she woke up in her own bed early Sunday morning to discover a strange man asleep beside her.

Police say they received a report of a man who entered a home in the area of 64 Avenue and 121 Street and fell asleep sometime between the hours of 4:20 a.m. and 7:20 a.m. He quickly left the property after he was woken up by the person who called police.

“We’re not sure what the motive was,” Cpl. Scotty Schumann said in a statement.

Police describe the man as aboriginal, approximately 22 years old, 5’3” with a slim build. He was wearing a black sweater and a black-and-grey baseball cap.

Investigators will canvass the area for witnesses and surveillance video.

Anyone with more information is asked to contact the Surrey RCMP at 604-599-0502 or Crime Stoppers, if they wish to remain anonymous, at 1-800-222-TIPS or www.solvecrime.ca.
