A man has miraculously escaped relatively unharmed after throwing himself into a tiger pen in a zoo, apparently in a bid to feed it.
The man, identified as 20-year-old Yang Jinhai, was photographed by alarmed visitors at Chengdu Zoo climbing into the Bengal tiger enclosure on Sunday morning.
He was reportedly upset that one of the tigers appeared to be hungry, so he decided to climb in the enclosure and give it some brown rice that he had in his backpack.

The man was rescued without injury and the police took him away.
“If it had been a Siberian tiger, the consequences would have been unimaginable,” a member of the zoo staff told the West China City Daily newspaper.
“It’s a pity the tiger didn’t eat the man!”joked Net user Chen_Peng.
Another Net user wrote, “Maybe he wanted to be the famous tiger fighter Wu Song?”
“The tiger probably thought ‘What a stupid guy. I don’t want to have anything to do with you,'” Shayuer wrote.
Some wanted to visit the zoo where the scene took place.
Others suggested that if the tiger hadn’t eaten for two days, the story might not have had such a happy ending.
