The heat has turned up on Vancouver’s luxury car selection with the unveiling of the most expensive Rolls-Royce ever to come to Canada.

It’s the Rolls-Royce Phantom Pinnacle Travel Edition, and there are only two of them in North America and 15 worldwide.

One of them is at Rolls-Royce Vancouver on 5th Avenue near Burrard, priced at $829,000. That’s about $180,000 more than a “regular” long-wheelbase Phantom.

“The bespoke nature, the custom nature of this car puts the man hours that are put into this car at about 900. Really, it’s all about customization in terms of the leather, the colours, the paint and particularly, the woodwork,” says Open Road Auto Group CEO Christian Chia.

Two hundred and seventy individual pieces of wood were put together to make a stylized picture of a steam locomotive in the dash.

Chia thinks the car could be sold within a week. Including taxes, the cost will be just under $1 million.
