Her training included walking between Stevie Beale walked 200 and 300 feet at a time three times per week in physical therapy.
Every bride’s walk down the aisle is special, but this one was extra special.
Stevie Beale, 24, was paralyzed below her waist in an accident seven years ago, but she managed to walk down the aisle when getting married last weekend.
Beale had pledged to walk at her wedding, which she did with her father and trainer on either side of her.
After the ceremony, Jared Vanausdale carried his bride down the aisle, excited to begin their future as husband and wife.
“I’m just so excited to finally be married and know that I’m marrying my best friend…,” said Beale. “I know we’re gonna laugh for the rest of our lives — and that’s what I was looking for so I’m so happy.”
Beale’s best friend, Bianna Mullinger, said she was extremely proud of her friend because of the strenuous work she put in to get to the point.
The pair’s friendship began three years ago when Mullinger lost her left leg in a train accident walking to Springfield High School.
Beale visited Mullinger at the hospital, which is also where she met her husband.
“It’s amazing to know that I introduced them and that they — at the beginning they were just friends — and they fell so madly in love,” said Mullinger. “I’ve never seen it like that before.”
