IT’S BEEN A decade since Kim Cattrall famously portrayed the confident and sultry Samantha Jones on the hit HBO series Sex and the City. On Sunday (July 20), the B.C.-raised actor returns to the television network’s Canadian channel—HBO Canada—in a new series, Sensitive Skin.
“I felt like in Sex and the City when I read that script — I really felt that that was a fresh voice. It was really exciting,” the star explained.
In Sensitive Skin, a remake of a British series of the same name, Kim portrays Davina, a woman struggling through a mid-life crisis.
“The voice of the character of Davina, it’s so completely different from what I’m known for playing and I thought that the series really took a point of view of this woman going through this mid-life crisis — which is very funny and charming and touching,” she said.
The series boasts even more Can-con with Canadian actor, writer and filmmaker, Don McKellar, working with Kim both in front of and behind the cameras.
“I feel like I’m in great hands and I feel very much a part of the collaborative team as well,” she added.
