Holly Bobo’s Skull Found in Tennessee After 3-Year Search

Human remains found in Decatur County Sunday morning belong to Holly Bobo, the TBI has confirmed at a news conference.

The 20-year-old nursing student was last seen April 13, 2011, by her brother, who told authorities he saw Bobo following a man in hunting clothes into the woods near the family home in Darden.

Decatur County Sheriff Keith Byrd said hunters found a human skull shortly after 10:30 a.m. Sunday. An odontologist was able to match the teeth with Bobo’s dental records.

The search scene is in the northern part of the county, about 11 miles from suspect Zachary Adams’s home. Adams is facing kidnapping and felony murder charges for Bobo’s death.

Jason Autry is also charged with first-degree felony murder and especially aggravated kidnapping.

District Attorney General Matt Stowe said, “Everyone knows how serious the charges are and how important it is to get to the truth. And we will get to the truth.”

He said the state is “ready, willing, and able” to make this a death penalty case.

“You can delay justice, but you can’t deny it,” he added.

The Bobo family will issue a statement Tuesday.
