Gordon’s Ramsay new restaurant opening ‘sabotaged’ by fake Reservations

Gordon Ramsay says that a rival chef sabotaged the opening night of his new restaurant by booking dozens of fake reservations.

The celebrity chef said that out of 140 parties planning to attend the unveiling of Heddon Street Kitchen in Mayfair, just 40 honoured their booking.

Ramsay was speaking on the Jonathan Ross Show broadcast on ITV last night, and claimed a rival had ”been on the computer” to make the fake bookings. He didn’t go as far as naming the individual, but when asked if the act was deliberate he claimed: “Yes, sabotage.”

Ramsay said his staff would now have to go through the process of reconfirming every table booking for the restaurant which is said to have a “relaxed, modern European menu” by the head chef Maria Tampakis. It is the 12th eatery the celebrity chef has opened in London, and his 24th worldwide.
