Brad Paisley CMA joke wasn’t racist: Column

Here’s a helping of controversy to go with your country music.

Before Darius Rucker took the stage, co-host Brad Paisley took a jab at the CMAs audience with a joke about ABC’s new comedy “Black-ish,” which usually airs Wednesday nights.

“If you were looking for ‘Black-ish’ tonight, yeah, this ain’t it,” said Paisley. “In the meantime, I hope you enjoy ‘White-ish.’”

Many viewers took to Twitter to call Paisley a “racist,” while others defended his comments as being all in good humor, reported USA Today.
