3 people Hate Crime Suspects Turn Themselves in to Police

Three of the suspects implicated in Philadelphia hate crime that took place earlier this month have turned themselves in to police, officials say.

Kathryn Knott, 24, along with Philip Williams, 24, and Kevin Harring, 26, were charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, recklessly endangering another person and criminal conspiracy.

Activist Scott Wooledge apparently poured through Knott’s social media profiles and pulled out select tweets, pics, and messages via a Storyfi page, to point out the suspect’s history of anti-gay remarks.

“Meet #PhillyHateCrime Defendant Kathryn Knott,” reads the site’s title.

“Charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, recklessly endangering another person and criminal conspiracy in the Sept. 11 gay-bashing in Philadelphia. Here are some selected messages from her Twitter account,” Wooledge wrote.

“the ppl we were just dancing with just turned and mafe out with eatch other #gay #ew,” Knott tweeted to a friend on March 18, 2012.

“Jazz flute is for little fairy boys,” she wrote on Dec. 14, 2012.

“he’s gonna rip me today for my hair..just wait. #dyke,” Knott tweeted on August 29, 2013.

Wooledge also posts several pictures and tweets from 2012 and 2013 of Knott discussing her, what appears to be, excessive drinking and partying habits.

She also made xenophobic tweets in late 2012.

“My cab driver starting shouting some jihad shit so I starting singing America the beautiful #merrica,” she tweeted.

ABC 6 News confirmed Wednesday that Knott is the daughter of Karl Knott, the police chief of Chalfont, Bucks County in Pennsylvania. Reports for the station said no one answered when they knocked on the Knott’s home, but several neighbors said off-camera they were not surprised that the young woman is a suspect in the anti-gay attack.
