20 Year Old Burger? Men lay claim to world’s oldest burger

Friends saved burger, now 20 years old. Casey Dean, a musician now based in Melbourne, says he and his friend bought the quarter pounder with cheese from a local McDonald’s in 1995 and kept it in the cupboard in its original wrapping.

He’s set up a Facebook page, Can This 20 Year Old Burger Get More Likes Than Kanye West?, which has attracted 3000 likes in one week.

He is also selling a Free the Burger song on iTunes for $1.69, with proceeds going to Beyond Blue.

McDonald’s burgers are known not to rot. Two years ago a Utah man revealed a McDonald’s burger he bought in 1999, which still looked exactly the same. Another American woman, Karen Hanrahan, claimed to have bought one in 1996 and kept a blog about it until 2012.
