Female pedestrian dies after being struck by vehicle in Scarborough

A 65-year-old female pedestrian has been pronounced dead on scene after being struck by a vehicle in Scarborough, paramedics say.

The incident occurred at Kennedy Road and McNicoll Avenue around 6:45 a.m. on Monday.

The woman had to be freed after she became trapped underneath the vehicle.

It appears she was crossing Kennedy from the west side to the east side when she was hit by a northbound vehicle.

The driver remained at the scene but it’s not clear if charges will be laid.

Portions of Kennedy and McNicoll are closed for the police investigation.

Witnesses are asked to call the non-emergency line, at 416-808-2222.
