Jennifer Carren was thrown into the water off Cabo San Lucas, on the Baja California peninsula.

PeninsularDigital, a local newspaper’s online website says about two dozen people were on a tourist boat, possibly a Zodiak, just returning from a snorkelling trip in the Sea of Cortez, a popular dive spot at the tip of Baja.

This report says 6 people were injured, 3 seriously. One of them, 35-year old Jeniffer Carren of Canada died shortly after arriving at a clinic in San Lucas. The Attorney-General of the state has reportedly confirmed the name, according to another report.

There are other reports that the whale actually jumped out of the water and landed on the boat and the woman was knocked into the water. Another tourist who is a nurse gave her mouth-to-mouth before paramedics arrived and took her to hospital where she succumbed.
