Skypalace transformation another $2 million : Wildrose Party

The Wildrose claims to have some new numbers that show how expensive the Redford ‘Sky Palace’ would have been.

The opposition Wildrose has released new documents showing former premier Alison Redford had major plans for the suite, including $43,000 for stone and porcelain wall and floor tiles, more than $45,000 for drapes and nearly $100-thousand for custom millwork.

The province originally said it cost $173,00 for design concepts to change the top floor of a government building in Edmonton to a luxury penthouse for Redford.

But the Wildrose says, when you factor in all the upgrades, the price-tag for the penthouse would have totalled more than $2-million.

    1. This hardly seems to be a surprise. If the designs themselves cost $173,000 – is anyone surprised that the place itself was going to cost 10-12 times that much?

    2. Quit kicking a dead horse. Wildrose – next story please.
