Markham Parents charged after infant rescued from car at ‘Costco’

A Markham couple has been charged for leaving a child in a locked, hot car in a parking lot while they went shopping.

It happened in a Markham Costco parking lot on Tuesday, when the temperature was close to 24 degrees.

Police say someone spotted a two-month-old baby girl in a car seat in a locked vehicle. The windows were closed.

When officers arrived on scene, they broke the window to get the baby out of the car.

Police say the baby is in good health.

When her parents came back to the vehicle, they were charged for leaving the girl unattended.
