Edmonton Man facing 70 charges after police discovered bomb in Mill Woods garage

Graham McCagherty has been charged with more than 70 offences after weapons, explosives and stolen property were discovered at a southeast Edmonton property where a bomb was detonated by police Tuesday night.

Earlier this week, residents in a southeast Edmonton neighbourhood were told to leave their homes while the bomb squad moved in to detonate the device.

Police said the explosives were industrial grade, but added the incident was not believed to have any links to terrorism.

The device was found while police were doing a drug investigation.

Officers also found and seized 12 firearms, prohibited silencers and suppressors, 28 prohibited magazines, a large quantity of ammunition and body armour.

Police also seized two stolen skid steers and a stolen flat deck trailer, as well as drugs and cash at a different residence.
