Alberta man’s body found floating in Okanagan River, police investigating

Penticton RCMP have opened an active investigation after a body turned up Friday in a channel of water on the outskirts OK Falls Friday morning.

Penticton RCMP received a call at 9 a.m. Friday of a male floating in the channel in OK Falls.

RCMP have identified the deceased as a 24-year-old man from Alberta but will not provide additional details until the man’s next-of-kin is notified.

The BC Coroners Service and Penticton RCMP are leading the investigation into the death.

Okanagan Falls is located at the south end of Skaha Lake, approximately 20 kiilometres south of Penticton.
