WRKO, which broadcast Rush Limbaugh’s radio show in Boston, said Tuesday that it will no longer air the conservative pundit’s show. It’s the second major city radio station to drop him in recent weeks.
Premiere Networks, which syndicates his show, was “unable to reach agreeable terms” with the station. Premiere said in a statement:
We were unable to reach agreeable terms for The Rush Limbaugh Show to continue on WRKO. A final broadcast date will be announced in the near future. Rush Limbaugh airs daily in every measured media market in America, and we look forward to announcing exciting news for our Boston listeners soon.
Limbaugh remains on WRKO in the immediate. On Wednesday, Limbaugh could be heard calling Osama bin Laden a “lefty” based on recently declassified material and documents found in his Pakistan compound.
News-talk radio stations have struggled to attract national advertisers in recent years, partly as a result of liberal activist opposition to controversial comments made by conservative hosts, The Wall Street Journal reported in February. Limbaugh was at the center of that storm in 2012 when he called Georgetown University law student Sandra Fluke a “slut” and “prostitute” for testifying to Congress that the university should provide insurance coverage for contraceptives.

Listened to Rush… He spends hours detailing the sins of everyone he disagrees with, and holds himself out as better than anyone else. As a guy with a previous Oxycontin addiction that destroyed his hearing, and four failed marriages, He should learn to be humble, and never ‘hop’ when walking on eggs…… The scary part of all this is.. there is an entire segment of the population that talk and act exactly like him….

Rush Limbaugh still has 20 million listeners in this country, but Mediamatters has the nerve to call him toxic? Conversely, Air America went bankrupt because its shrill, left-wing talk show hosts couldn’t attract enough listeners or advertisers to stay on the air in even one radio market. Odd, but I never heard Mediamatters refer to Air America as toxic.
Its about time radio markets are dropping him, I would rather listen to paint dry before listening to him again. He’s just a typical Republican, plenty of blame for every Democrat, and never a good idea from them. I’ll say this though, he is a master at spin, and has managed to fool the simpletons of our great country.
It appears when the left cannot challenge him they must try to remove his microphone, or somehow block his speech—probably based on the total inability to counter his fact based broadcasts.
