The couple who became an internet sensation this week after their reaction to learning there were going to have quadruplets has opened up about their long battle with infertility, their new fame, and why they chose to document their struggle.
The odds of having two sets of identical twins from different placentas are one in 70 million.
As for multiples in general, doctors say twins only occur in about 1 percent of IVF cycles.
Only 2 percent of all pregnancies result in one set of identical twins, according to medical researchers at the University of Pennsylvania.
Out of those, just 30 percent are identical twins.
The Gardners have taped their journey from starting IVF treatments to the shock of finding out they are having quadruplets.
They have also set up a Facebook page, where more than 71,000 people are following their story.
