Working with Sofia Vergara on their comedy “Hot Pursuit” landed Reese Witherspoon in the emergency room.
During an appearance on ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show,’ Sofia, 42, confessed she accidentally injured costar Reese, 39, while the duo were acting out a fight scene for the movie.
“We did a fight sequence — she’s tough man,” Reese recalled during the Monday, April 13 sit-down. To which Sofia replied, “Are you going to tell them what I did to you?”
“She went to the emergency room. I sent her to the emergency room,” the ‘Modern Family’ star told host Ellen DeGeneres, 57.
The duo went on to explain that while filming the fight scene, Sofia was unintentionally rough with her costar and caused Reese “internal bleeding.”
“I popped her ovary,” Joe Manganiello’s fiancée told Ellen.
“I don’t know what happened,” Reese said, after admitting she first thought her appendix had burst. A visit to the ER apparently confirmed the mother-of-three’s ovary had burst, she added.
In the movie — which hits theaters on May 8 — Reese plays an inept police officer who must protect the widow of a drug dealer (Sofia’s character) from criminals while they are on the run.
