Céline Dion may get a tattoo in honor of her late husband, René Angélil, who passed away in January following a battle with throat cancer.
“I’ve seen so many people that have tattoos when they’re young, and then they get older and it changes… It’s going down. It’s gravity baby,” Celine said, before admitting she has plans to get inked herself.
“Since my husband passed away, they can make a tattoo of his heartbeat,” she said. “So I might have his heartbeat on my body for the rest of my life.”
René sadly passed away on 14 January at the age of 73, after a long battle with throat cancer. The couple, who were married for 21 years, have three children together, René-Charles, 15, and five-year-old twin sons Eddy and Nelson.
Celine is set to unveil a brand new French album this month, Encore Un Soir – her first release since losing her husband.
She has also started work on a new English album, which will include a track personally written for her by Pink, in light of René’s death.
“She is phenomenal. I love her for her talent, for her strength, for her focus, the person she is,” Celine said of the 36-year-old during an interview with Entertainment Tonight in July.
“At the Billboard Music Awards when I saw her, I said, ‘For you to take the time to really write a song, to give me a tool, a piece of luggage to help me to move forward, to walk, to keep going…'”
