Shayne Austin : Suspect in Holly Bobo case commits suicide

Shayne Austin, the suspect and key witness in the kidnapping and murder of then 20-year-old Tennessee nursing student Holly Bobo was found dead in what his lawyer said was an apparent suicide.

Austin was initially given immunity in the case in April 2014 but it was revoked after the TBI said he was not truthful. He was supposed to lead investigators to Bobo’s body but he didn’t.

Bobo disappeared from her home on April 13, 2011 but her remains were not found until Sept. 7, 2014.

Zach Adams and Jason Autry are both charged with first degree murder and especially aggravated kidnapping in her death.

Adams’ brother, Dylan Adams, was also indicted in October 2014 on two counts of rape against Bobo for an alleged assault that occurred the same day as her 2011 disappearance.
