A touching video showing a Huntington Beach police officer playing hopscotch with a homeless girl while another policeman makes housing arrangements for her mother has gone viral.
Officer Pricer from Huntington Beach Police met the girl and her mother after responding to a report about a suspicious vehicle parked on the street in California in the US.
Video posted on the police force’s Facebook page shows the girl laughing as the officer explains the rules of hopscotch while his colleague works on housing arrangements with her mother.
The footage shows him hopping along the squares before he loses his balance during his turn. After the girl takes her turn, the officer gives her a high five.
People who know the family commented on the footage, saying they hoped they would now get the help they needed.
One wrote: “Very nice and respectful mom and daughter. I am SO happy that they are getting lasting help.
“And the little gesture of hopscotch with a cop will impact them for life.”
