Penn Station Shooting Kills One, Leaves Two Hurt, NYPD says

One person was killed and two others were injured during a shooting near Penn Station.

An NYPD spokesman said the shooting occurred on in the subway station at Eighth Avenue and 35th Street at 6:14 a.m., following a dispute inside a nearby McDonald’s.

The assailant followed the victims down the stairs and fired at least four shots, police said.

The dead man was identified only as a 43-year-old man who was shot in the neck, police said. Police said his body was found at the bottom of subway stairs, though investigators initially said they did not believe the shooting took place in the subway — and an MTA spokeswoman told Newsday the shooting did not take place at the subway station.

Of the wounded, police said a 45-year-old male victim, who had been shot twice, was taken to Bellevue in critical condition, and the third victim, a 48-year-old male, was shot in the right thigh — and was taken to Bellevue in stable condition.
