Opening 30 minutes of Far Cry Primal: it’s pretty brutal (Video)

Zooming back 12,000 years is a heck of a way to start a game, and after a little story (we like a good story) you’re thrust into the middle of an intense hunt. We’ve seen some of this content before but it’s good to know how much will be interactive and to get an idea of the opening strains of what promises to be an epic tale.

The Far Cry series has always foregrounded its first person combat with a variety of ballistic weapons so it’s great to see Ubisoft stretching their abilities here in a way we haven’t seen since Blood Dragon. The world looks gorgeous and also refreshingly different to what has come before – especially as Far Cry 4 sometimes felt like a prettier, reskinned version of the previous game. And we just can’t wait to master all those beasts.

Far Cry Primal launches on PS4, Xbox One and PC from the 23rd of February 2016.
