Officials: 5000 People May Be Affected From Hepatitis A at Red Robin

Health officials say up to 5,000 people visited the Red Robin restaurant on South Glenstone Avenue during the time when an employee working there may have spread hepatitis A. Now those people are worried they might have the disease.

Health officials are urging anyone who might have been exposed to get a vaccination, and quickly.

“If you don’t give It within 14 days of the time they’re exposed — it doesn’t work so we are really on the clock. That’s why we are doing this very quickly and we need your help to get the information out because the clock is ticking by the end of the month that 14 days… his last day of work was the 16th, so that 14 days will be up, so you have to get it two weeks after exposure.”

The health department says the worker who had Hepatitis A has been very cooperative – and so has Red Robin.

Restaurant officials say the employee won’t return to work until he’s medically cleared to do so.
