New York : Pregnant woman slain (Video)

A pregnant woman was sitting in a car outside her Long Island home when someone walked up and shot her multiple times, killing the woman and her fetus, police said Sunday.

Officers responding to a 911 call of shots fired found the 31-year-old woman, identified as Milagro Canjura, unresponsive in a car parked in front of her home in Bay Shore. Police said she had been shot multiple times. Canjura was taken to nearby Southside Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Police did not say how many months pregnant Canjura was, but they noted in a news release that the fetus did not survive.
