Mika Brzezinski ‘Furry’ run off – Report : The Morning Joe host was reporting about a gas leak at a furry convention in Illinois when she got caught up on the word “furry.” Brzezinski asked her co-hosts if she was pronouncing the word wrong and when they told her what it meant… well, Mika completely lost it.

The realization occurred while Mika Brzezinski was reading the teleprompter feed regarding a chlorine gas incident that forced an evacuation. Thousands attendees were escorted out of the 2014 Midwest FurFest convention Sunday, and 19 were treated for sickness. The Huffington Post says Mika Brzezinski came across the unfamiliar term, pausing awkwardly and eventually asking, “Did I get that wrong?”

Equally as confused, co-host Joe Scarborough chimes in and asks, “What’s a furry?” While a graphic remains on screen, viewers can hear a muffled exchange between the puzzled anchors and informed producers.

Cue the hysterics.

As the camera cuts back to the studio, Mika Brzezinski is shown unable to keep her composure — as some may react when learning about the subculture fascinated with fictional animals. Willie Geist attempts to rescue the program as both Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski try to get it together.

A short clip from an on-the-scene report of the evacuation gives the hosts a momentary break from the spotlight. However, once they return, Mika Brzezinski is nowhere to be seen — until she’s caught making a break for the studio door.
