Justin Lowe : “Missing” After the Burial guitarist found dead at 32

Guitarist Justin Lowe has been found dead almost a week after he disappeared.

His body was discovered by a hiker beneath the Arcola High Bridge connecting Arcola, MN, and Somerset, WI, according to St. Croix County Chief Deputy Scott Knudson, who confirmed the identity of the body Wednesday. Lowe, a native of Vadnais Heights, MN, was 32.

Knudson says foul play is not suspected and that the injuries sustained are consistent with a fall. Lowe’s vehicle was found in a parking lot on the Minnesota side of the bridge.

Justin Lowe recently quit After the Burial in a long, paranoid-sounding Facebook post. He was reported missing June 18. On June 25, his bandmates issued a statement addressing his disappearance and apparent mental-health issues.

“Our dear friend, our brother onstage and off, has fallen into a very broken state of mind,” the statement reads. “A state that, despite our continued efforts, we have been powerless to get him out of.”

After the Burial — known for their thundering, eight-string guitars and bellowing vocals — have a large national following. Formed in 2004 by high school friends, the band has released four albums, including 2013’s Wolves Within. ATB is scheduled to play the Skyway Theatre in Minneapolis on July 31 as part of the Summer Slaughter Tour.
