Jim Carrey joins hundreds in Tipperary for ex-girlfriend Cathriona White’s funeral “Video”

Jim Carrey carried the casket of his late girlfriend, Cathriona White, at her funeral in Cappawhite, Tipperary, Ireland on Saturday.

Taking to his Twitter page just hours after the funeral the comedian posted a silhouetted picture of him and Cathriona looking lovingly into each other’s eyes.

“Love cannot be lost” he shared with his 15.2M followers. Earlier on in the day Jim attended the funeral of his former love in Cappawhite, Co Tipperary in Ireland. Arriving in a blacked out Mercedes and wearing dark sunglasses the Hollywood star slipped into the church, Our Lady of Fatima, without causing a scene and only stopped briefly to talk to locals who had also come to the church for the funeral.

Following the incredibly moving ceremony, which included a tribute from Cathriona’s half-brother Tadgh and step-sister Sarah, Jim helped family members carry the coffin through the town to the graveyard. Looking understandably solemn The Truman Show star tightly gripped his daughter Jane’s hand for support.

The procession through the streets brought the village to a standstill as Jim and Cathriona’s family were joined by hundreds of mourners who came out to support the family and to say their final goodbyes to the 30-year-old Irish native.

Showing how loved she was the parish church was filled to capacity with friends and family. Other grievers unable to find a seat in the church were able to follow the service from outside thanks to a special speaker system.

The former make-up artist was buried in the church’s cemetery next to her beloved father Pat, who died three years previously after losing a 20 year battle to cancer.
