Jihadi John : New ISIS video raises questions about captor

‘Jihadi John’ reappears?

The reappearance of a knife-brandishing terrorist raises more questions about Western intelligence agencies’ knowledge regarding his identity and whereabouts.

“The militant in the video spoke English with a British accent and resembles a militant involved in other executions by Islamic State,” The Wall Street Journal wrote Tuesday.

Popularly known as “Jihadi John” by some media outlets, the militant goes by the nom de guerre Jalman Al-Britani and “is believed to be responsible for the murders of [American] journalists James Foley, Steven Sotloff, British aid workers David Haines, Alan Henning and … American hostage Peter Kassig,” according to Britain’s The Telegraph in an online profile.

A London rapper has “emerged as a possible suspect,” the profile said, though “no one has officially confirmed who he is.”

Last September, the FBI “revealed that intelligence services had identified the man [but] refused to give the individual’s name or nationality publicly,” The Telegraph added.
