A Georgia mom is being hailed as a hero, spending her last moments alive protecting her 6-month-old baby.
According to WGHP, 33-year-old Jessica Arrendale was with her husband, 30-year-old Antoine Davis, Saturday night when the former Marine grew violent and abusive.
Police say Davis chased her upstairs and kicked in the bathroom door.
Arrendale tried to defend herself with a baseball bat, but the former marine overpowered her.
According to officers, Davis grabbed the bat and struck her several times, then shot Arrendale in the head with a rifle while she was still holding the baby.
According to WSB, Officers say when Davis shot Arrendale, she twisted her body and fell in the opposite direction and dropped Cobie into the toilet.
Arrendale’s family believes Davis would have also shot the baby, but she was hidden in the toilet.
Little Cobie stayed inside the toilet for 13 hours.
The baby was treated for hypothermia and head trauma.
Police believe the baby was struck in the head by the baseball bat during the confrontation between her parents.
Investigators say after Davis shot Arrendale in the head, he went to the baby’s room and shot himself in the head and died.

That’s so much Bulls**t. She was trying to run away. She wasn’t trying to “protect” the baby. She was scared s**tless and was turning to run. Yeah. He had already taken the baseball bat away from her, so she was holding the baby, using it to try to protect herself. A human shield. If the baby had wound up head down in the water and drowned, would they still say she was protecting the baby? Get real. This is just another episode of a black man with a white gal not wanting to give her up. Again, get real. The guy was abusive and the gal kept goingback for more, so who’s fault is it? Really?
Why make it a race issue? I have many types of friends of different ethnicities whom don’t act this way. All ethnic groups have done this. You sound ignorant & something else is going on with you…. obviously.
