Halle Berry, Oliver Martinez to divorce after two years, Report

Halle Berry and husband of two years Olivier Martinez announced on Tuesday that they have split.

‘It is with a heavy heart that we have come to the decision to divorce,’ the joint statement read. ‘We move forward with love and respect for one another and the shared focus for what is best for our son.

‘We wish each other nothing but happiness in life, and we hope that you respect our, and most importantly our children’s privacy, as we go through this difficult period.’

The split seems to be amicable with People.com though it comes not long after they were sued over an incident in January at LAX airport where Olivier was accused of shoving an airport employee to the ground with their two-year-old son Maceo’s car seat.

Both actors are named in the $5million lawsuit filed this month and that reportedly put even more of a strain on their marriage.

Just 10 days ago the former couple were seen spending time with their son in Sherman Oaks, but this week Halle filed her divorce papers citing irreconcilable differences.

The couple met on the set of Dark Tide in 2012 and married in July the following year.

Halle had previously been in a relationship with model Gabriel Aubry who she shares a seven-year-old daughter Nahla with.

This marks the end of the X-Men star’s third marriage, having previously been married to baseball player David Justice for four years until 1997, and to R&B singer Eric Benet from 2001 to 2005.
