Erika VonDwingelo Missing Naugatuck teen found safe

Erika VonDwingelo, a 19-year-old woman reported missing after a New Year’s Eve date with a man she met on social media has been found safe and unharmed, police said Friday night.

According to police, Erika VonDwingelo left her home on Dec. 31 at approximately 8 p.m. to go out with a male named “Chris” whom she met on social media. The teen had not met the male before.

The last name of the individual named Chris is unknown and there was no information regarding where the two were going.

An alert was issued by police on Jan. 2 as she was last seen leaving her home on New Year’s Eve and had not been located since.

Police later reported on Jan. 2 that VonDwingelo was found safe and unharmed.

No further information was released by police.
