A woman who cut a baby out of a stranger’s womb in a horror attack which nearly killed the expectant mother has been jailed for 100 years.
Dynel Lane, 35, was given the lifelong sentence Friday for attacking and butchering Michelle Wilkins, 27, and killing her unborn baby girl in March 2015.
The 36-year-old was found guilty on four charges of assualt and another of unlawful termination of a pregnancy following the attack in March last year.
Lane had previously faked a pregnancy, before luring her 28-year-old victim to her home with an advert for maternity clothes online.
She beat Ms Wilkins over the head with a lava lamp before stabbing her in the neck with the broken glass, cutting her abdomen and removing the unborn baby from her womb.
Lane then left the woman for dead in a pool of blood after the attack near Denver.
Ms Wilkins’ unborn baby, later given the name Aurora, did not survive the horrific attack.
Addressing her attacker in court in front of a blown up picture of Aurora, Ms Wilkins said: “It is clear that you need healing and I hope that you get it.”
Lane was convicted in February and was sentenced on Friday.
