Driver killed at short track race school, Report

A young novice driver was killed in a crash at the Wall Stadium Speedway in Wall Township Saturday afternoon.

Police say Amanda Gambacorto was taking part in a driving clinic for a small race at the Wall Stadium Speedway at about 12:30 p.m. when she lost control of the vehicle.

The 21-year old crashed her three-quarter midget car into a wall and died a short time later at Jersey Shore Medical Center. No one else was hurt.

Investigators are checking to make sure all safety regulations were followed during the clinic.

The track canceled its race schedule Saturday night.
