To get players hyped and ready for “Deus Ex: Mankind Divided,” the development team at Square Enix Eidos-Montreal had revealed a few more things alongside the new trailer. The developer presents 10 reason for why it feels that the game follows the perfect action RPG formula.
The clip, which is narrated by Jensen, shows the state of the dystopian world he inhabits. Set two years after the events of Human Revolution, augmented humans – like Jensen – are being persecuted, leading to what he calls a “full-blown, mechanical apartheid.”
We get to see some of the cool new augs that Jensen has it his disposal, including explosive nanoblades and the Titan shield. The game also introduces advanced customization options for weapons, which you can tailor to suit your preferred play style.
There are now plenty of non-lethal approaches for Jensen to take. Unlike the first game, where the boss battles were unavoidable, it’s possible to complete Mankind Divided without killing anyone.
Square Enix cancelled its ‘augmented’ pre-order program, which gave new rewards depending on how many people signed-up, after it was heavily criticized and called a “cynical cash grab.” There will now be several editions of Mankind Divided available.
The standard, $59.99 Day One Edition ships with the game, an extra mission, and a covert agent pack that contains weapons, re-skins and upgrades. It also comes with a digital OST sampler, a digital mini art book, novella, and comic.
Those wanting the season pass can order the Digital Delux Edition for $89.99, which also includes everything from the Day One Edition.
Finally, there’s the $139.99 Collector’s Edition, which features all the items from the Day One pack, as well as a nine-inch Adam Jenson figure, a 48-page Titan art book, a steelbook, and an exclusive black and gold prism box.
Deus Ex: Mankind Divided is set to launch on on August 23 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
