Daniel Craig : Actor Is Over Playing James Bond

Daniel Craig has given the clearest indication yet that he will not play James Bond for a fifth time, saying he would rather “slash my wrists”.

The actor, who reprises the role of the secret agent in his fourth Bond movie, Spectre, this November told Time Out magazine it was time to move on.

“I’m over it at the moment. We’re done. All I want to do is move on,” he said.

“For at least a year or two, I just don’t want to think about it,” he continued. “If I did another Bond movie, it would only be for the money.”

Asked if he could imagine making another Bond movie, Craig didn’t exactly pull his punches, “‘I’d rather break this glass and slash my wrists. No, not at the moment. Not at all.”

Craig is credited with re-invigorating the Bond franchise after he first stepped into the role in Casino Royale in 2006.

A who’s who of Hollywood names have been touted as Craig’s successor to play Bond, including Idris Elba, Tom Hardy, Tom Hiddleston and the current bookies’ favourite, Damien Lewis.

Craig refused to be drawn on who should take over in the iconic role.

“Look, I don’t give a f**k. Good luck to them! All I care about is that if I stop doing these things we’ve left it in a good place and people pick it up and make it better.”

He advised his successor to “step up” and more importantly told them, “don’t be shit.’’
