Cloaked figure ‘dropping raw meat on playgrounds’ in Gastonia NC

GASTONIA, N.C – Police in North Carolina are investigating pictures purported to show a cloaked figure dropping raw meat near a playground.

The pale figure, whose identity and gender remain unknown, sparked fear after being caught on camera just outside an apartment complex in Gastonia, North Carolina.

Their outfit was straight out of a horror film – floor length, hooded, and black.

Some of social media suspected that the figure may have been attempting to poison local dogs.

Residents of the complex told local paper the Gaston Gazette they had found a bag of raw meat near their apartment two weeks prior.

While online commenters have linked the meat and the figure, local police have not confirmed any connection.

Many on social media found the pictures more funny than terrifying.

“This is so creepy and great. I hope they never find out what it was,” tweeted one.

User Sam Walt Jones tweeted: “You know it’s people like the dude in Gatsonia who gives us meat-dropping cloak-lovers a bad name.”

Local Brooke Conard didn’t find it so funny, as her yard connects to the woods that border the apartment complex.

“I see why it could be easy to make a joke out of it, but this is serious. We live in a world today where you don’t know what’s going on and you don’t know people,” she told the Gaston Gazette.

She feared for her daughter’s safety, and said that even if it was a hoax a child could be scarred by the encounter.
