California Bus Crash Kills One, Injures Dozens

A tour bus on its way from Los Angeles to Washington state crashed and rolled over in Northern California, killing one passenger and sending dozens to the hospital.

The crash happened at 7:41 a.m. in the Pollard Flat area. California Highway Patrol officials say a 33-year-old man was killed and two other people were airlifted to area hospitals. A total of 30 people have been reported injured.

CHP officials say the bus was traveling northbound on Interstate 5 when it ran off the road down an embankment and onto Eagle Roost Road where it rolled over, no other vehicles were involved.

CHP officers say the driver showed signs of fatigue. The bus was reportedly involved in an earlier minor crash this morning at the Red Bluff Denny’s around 5 a.m. but only minor property damage was sustained. The driver voluntarily went to CHP headquarters for evaluation and questioning.
