Actress Catherine Zeta-Jones Seeks Treatment for Bipolar II Disorder

Catherine Zeta-Jones has returned home after leaving a treatment facility where she was being treated for her bipolar II disorder.

The actress was spotted driving to her New York City apartment Tuesday after dropping off her daughter at school, according to People and E! News.

The 43-year-old “Red 2” actress decided to seek treatment for the second time in April. She previously underwent treatment at a Connecticut hospital in 2011, after publicly revealing that she suffers from Bipolar II – a condition that can cause episodes of depression lasting days and sometimes intense mood swings.

“This is a disorder that affects millions of people, and I am one of them,” Zeta-Jones told People mag at the time. “If my revelation of having bipolar II has encouraged one person to seek help, then it is worth it. There is no need to suffer silently, and there is no shame in seeking help.”
