Actor Chris Pine pleads guilty to DUI in NZ

Star Trek actor Chris Pine pleaded guilty Monday, March 17, to drunk driving in New Zealand and had his licence suspended for six months, reports said.

Pine, 33, was charged after he failed a breath test this month in the South Island town of Methven, where he had been attending a party after completing the science fiction film Z for Zachariah, New Zealand Newswire reported.

The bar which hosted the party, Blue Pub, issued a statement in which it said that Pine “did not appear to staff to be intoxicated to a level where intervention might have been warranted.”

During his hearing, Pine’s lawyer told the judge that he was sorry for the lapse of judgment.

Pine was fined 93 New Zealand dollars which is the equivalent of $79 American. His driver’s license was also suspended for six months, according to the New Zealand Herald.
