4-foot snake scares passengers on Philadelphia transit bus; Forcing Evacuation

An escaped four-foot snake on a bus prompted an emergency evacuation in Philadelphia.

According to multiple reports, the incident happened in West Philadelphia on the Route 52 bus around 3 p.m. That’s when a man boarded the bus with a 4-foot-long boa constrictor around his neck, hidden under his jacket, the Philadelphia Inquirer said.

The snake escaped from the man’s possession, forcing the driver to pull over as a SEPTA mechanic found it under a seat compartment, the Inquirer’s report said.

After the reptile was located, passengers returned to the bus and it continued its route, NBC10 said.

The incident is under investigation, although no charges have been filed as of Monday morning.
