The RFDS evacuated Pollard to Perth for emergency treatment around 14:30 local time, reports Daily Mail.

Apart from the damage to his arms, Pollard also sustained severe lacerations on his legs from the attack.

Pollard was apparently out surfing with his girlfriend from Esperance when the incident occurred. According to his Facebook account, he was an avid surfer.

Friends of the victim at the South Bunbury Football Club went on Facebook saying, “Today a young man was attacked by a shark in Esperance. Unfortunately the young man is one of our own in Sean Pollard. Our thoughts are with Polly and his Family from everyone at South Bunbury Football Club. We are with you all the way mate”.
