Astronaut Chris Hadfield memoir turned into sitcom

Canadian astronaut Chris Hadfield may soon keep company with a whole new type of star as his 2013 memoir An Astronaut’s Guide To Life on Earth is reportedly being adapted into a sitcom by Warner Bros.

The tentative series, as yet untitled, will feature an astronaut who completes his final space assignment, and must face the tough challenge of reintegrating to life on Earth.

The sitcom is described as “a family comedy about an astronaut who is back from space and finds that re-entering domestic life might be the hardest mission he’s ever faced.”

Hadfield will be a consulting producer on the pilot (no pun intended), and it will be written by Patrick Schumacker (“Surviving Jack”) and Justin Halpern — who was responsible for the book that inspired the short-lived TV series “S**t My Dad Says,” which starred fellow Canuck William Shatner.
