Woman,65, killed after being struck by TTC bus (Video)

A woman is dead after being struck by a bus near Lawrence West subway station at around 10:30 a.m. on Saturday.

Paramedics said the pedestrian died on scene.

Police say they have video footage of the woman crossing the street from the north to the south. It’s not yet clear whether she obeyed her signal.

Police say the 34-year-old driver of the bus is “emotionally traumatized.”
A coroner is on site and police are in the process of notifying the victim’s next-of-kin.

Lawrence Ave. W. was closed from Marlee Ave. to Allen Road but reopened around 3 p.m.

I live in Markham and I am ever so frustrated with pedestrians here, they just don’t look and cross the street having a red light, I have to be on the lookout all the time, not a day passes where I would like to yell at them if they have a death wish (I don’t know if this was the case here and my condolences to the family!)
