Woman injured in violent Bankview assault : Police

A woman is recovering in hospital after an alleged stabbing in the southwest community of Bankview Tuesday evening.

Shortly before 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, cops were called to a home in the area 25 Ave. and 19 St. S.W., where they found the victim of an attack but no suspect.

Det. Steve Adair said the victim had suffered multiple stabwounds.

She was rushed to hospital. Her condition is not considered to be life-threatening.

Meanwhile, police went on the hunt for the suspect, described as a 6-foot Native man in his mid-20s with black hair and some facial hair, wearing a black Under Armour brand hoodie with a grey logo and pants.

He was not located in the area.

Police ask anyone who might have information regarding the suspect and his whereabouts to call police at 403-266-1234 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
