Woman found dead at North York porch fire (Video)

A woman was found dead in front of a Rexdale home after a blaze there Wednesday morning.

Captain David Eckerman told AM640 the fire happened around 5:45am at 32 Tealham Dr. near Martin Grove Rd. and Albion Rd in Etobicoke.

When crews arrived, they found the victim suffering from severe burns on the front porch. She was pronounced dead on scene.

Eckerman says the fire did not spread to the house. He also says they’re uncertain how the fire started, and if it originated on the porch and transferred to her body, or if it was the other way around.

Police and paramedics are on scene, and it’s unknown at this time if the Ontario Fire Marshal will be investigating.
